Each one starts off with a heinous crime and ends with the guilty party behind bars, law and order successfully restored. What makes Midsomer Murders unique is its use of dark humor – unusual for a crime series –, the creativity of the murders plaguing the region, and its setting in a nostalgic and fantasized picture of southern England.
