Families Like Ours is the first series from Danish genius Thomas Vinterberg (Drunk, Festen), which he co-wrote with Bo Hr. Hansen (Darkness: Those Who Kill, Bullshit). It depicts with frightening accuracy the plight of people forced to migrate as victims of natural disasters. We follow Laura, a high-school student on the verge of graduating, who when tragedy strikes is faced with a Cornelian choice: follow her divorced parents or her boyfriend. Families Like Ours offers a striking counterpoint to the reality in which we live, demonstrating that whatever the situation and wealth of the country, humans remain powerless in the face of climate disruption and its consequences.
