Which place for digital creation in Geneva? A work-in-progress XR ecosystem!

Geneva is rich with a recognized training in digital creation, in particular with HEAD - Geneva and benefits from an abundant breeding ground of artists and cultural actors. However, it is facing a brain drain of creative digital artists, who do not find the necessary means to develop their activities here. How can we set up an ecosystem that encourages the emergence of new talent, gathers funding and facilitates access to the necessary work spaces and technical resources? This is the subject of this round-table discussion initiated by the Department of Culture and Digital Transition of the City of Geneva in partnership with the GIFF, with the aim of bringing together cultural and economic actors from Geneva in a common reflection around the festival.

Before joining the tech scene as XR ecosystem builder, accelerator, and facilitator, Laetitia has spent 10 years in the marketing & communication field, mainly in the luxury and watchmaking industry, after a start as a freelance journalist and completion of her po sci studies in New York and Geneva. She joined Virtual Switzerland to shape and develop this national thematic network into the gateway to #SwissXR. Now the director of the association, she advises companies and startups, fostering tech transfer, synergies, and promoting the adoption and integration of XR across industries. This spring, she has also been appointed president of the newly funded XR4Europe association that federates all XR professionals, organizations, and initiatives to support XR and creativity made in Europe.
