During the repressive riots in Kiev in 2013, Olga – a young gymnast freshly arrived in Switzerland – is training for the Olympic Games. She absorbs the events covered by her journalist mother from within her native country. The portrait of an exuberant teenager.
“For freedom we will give body and soul,” people shouted during the repressive riots in Kiev in 2013. Co-written with Raphaëlle Desplechin after her time at ECAL, the filmmaker was inspired by the story of a Ukrainian woman who came to Switzerland just before Euromaïdan. There, Olga, a young gymnast preparing for the Olympic Games, absorbs the events from her native country that are covered by her journalist mother. The portrait of a passionate teenager. Powerful.
