In Japan to promote her book, a well-known French writer (Isabelle Huppert) sees her life turned upside down. A little exile in the land of ghosts allows her to make the connection between her past and present.
Inspired by a travel souvenir shot during the pandemic, Elise Girard's third film takes us to a deserted Japan that's a little strange and unreal. Haunted by her husband's passing, Sidonie, an established French writer, is invited to promote one of her books. She is welcomed and taken in hand by her publisher for a six-day tour of the ghost country. In this fantastical atmosphere, a gentle rebirth takes place. Tailor-made for Isabelle Huppert, this is a delicate, luminous film with majestic photography by Céline Bozon (The Beast in the Jungle). Co-written by Sophie Fillières (La belle et la belle), it is dedicated to producer Michiko Yoshitake.
