When David accompanied his mother to a furniture store, he couldn't possibly have imagined that, once sat on a sofa, she would refuse to ever move again. A portrait of a dysfunctional, acerbic family.
"It was very simple. They were looking for a chest of drawers. Only later would there be bloodshed". An old woman and her two sons visit a second-hand furniture store looking to buy a couch. Choosing the most luxurious, she flops down on it. And refuses to get up. Ever again. Her daughter soon arrives. But only one of her children is actually concerned for their mother. In this vast warehouse, we find a pair of twins as whimsical as they are creepy, a borderline young girl and some disillusioned siblings. For his first film adapted from Jerker Virdborg's novel, the filmmaker creates a bizarre universe and explores the fractures of the past. A funny and unsettling family nightmare starring exceptional actors.
