Among the ruins of the Franciscan monastery in Corsica, director Yvan Butler meets the enigmatic and unpredictable artist Leonor Fini at her end-of-summer party.

"When people ask me: how do you do it? I answer: I am". Inspiring, eccentric, brilliant and brazen, artist and painter Leonor Fini was often linked to the Surrealists. Yet this avowed lover of cats left behind her own unique, dreamlike and sensual oeuvre of works refuting gender binarism; an oeuvre in her own image. In the abandoned monastery where she took up residence during the summer, Leonor Fini basked in the sunshine, the sea and the presence of companions who shared her taste for dressing outlandishly. With the new Télévision Suisse Romande network still looking for its raison d'être, Yvan Butler presented his remarkable portrait of this arresting woman as part of the Champ libre arts magazine.
