Having recently fled their country for Sweden, Sergei and Natalia learn that their application for asylum has been rejected. Their youngest daughter Katja suddenly falls into a coma. A stunning film.
Deeply moved by the resignation syndrome that afflicts many refugee children in Sweden, Alexandros Avranas decides to sound the alarm in his new film, inspired by true events. When a well-behaved refugee family is refused asylum, the youngest daughter falls into a coma that has long been perceived as a false illness. The Greek director highlights the absurdity and hypocrisy faced by asylum seekers with devastating emotional force. Amid such moral questioning, a family struggles to regain a hope that seems lost forever. Moving and revolting!
