Can robots help us overcome one of the biggest challenges of social distancing? When touching becomes impossible, the simplest gestures that used to be part of our everyday lives must be reimagined. Initially designed as an online platform that visitors can control remotely, AATB’s Handshake installation reflects on new modes of interaction and intimacy. The human body and the robotic body are confronted with one another, and finally merge – both virtually and physically.
