Hannah Laing, a policewoman with many hours on the clock, is unimpressionable. But the investigation into the suspicious disappearance of her colleague and lover leads her into a turmoil that tests her as much as a wife and cop as a mother.
Hannah Laing is a veteran cop. She hasn't kept her job and her private life separate for a long time now: she is the lover of her married colleague, and her own son is often in trouble with the police (in other words, her). When her lover disappears in obscure circumstances, she throws herself into the investigation. A mature female character far from the television clichés who, in the midst of the storm, remains calm, determined and elusive.
