Hungary 1985. Arriving in Budapest to start university, Geri is contacted by the state police. The message is clear: infiltrate a gang of activists run by fellow student Zsolt Szava and report back intelligence or your brother won’t get his life-saving medicine. Geri embraces student life: partying, studying, making friends, but feels conflicted about his mission. When a genuine friendship develops between himself and Szava, his dilemma intensifies. As his handler steps up his threats against Geri’s family, Geri becomes invested in Szava’s cause, and to complicate things more, falls in love... HBO Max teams up with Hungarian rising star Bálint Szentgyörgyi – and delivers a superb eighties reconstruction that is as much college drama as it is a spy film.
