A man is in charge of personally announcing sad news to enigmatic citizens in a city mysteriously overwhelmed by disasters. Melancholy, ferocious and morbid, this film is reminiscent of the universe of Aki Kaurismäki or R. Andersson.

Adapted from the novel SLUK by Lars Saabye Christensen, this comedy has the dark humor, bordering on the absurd, of Hamer’s films. Here, a man – whose job is far from easy – is charged with personally delivering sad news to enigmatic citizens in a city mysteriously plagued by disasters. Melancholy like an Edward Hopper painting, but also ferocious and morbid, this movie is stylistically reminiscent of a Kaurismäki or an Andersson.
