The idea for this film came from a personal story of the filmmaker's mother, reunited with her own father who came from the opposite social background to her. A film about family, about the question of obstacles to love and about its consequences. On an island, in a house where no one ever truly leaves, events take place out of sight in a toxic family disconnected from reality. We witness the end of a world that is falling apart, discovering everyone's rivalries and secrets. There is just one man, surrounded by a sea of the most sensual, murky and powerful women. An ensemble film with outstanding actors, reminiscent of Claude Chabrol's jinxed and jubilant universe.
