1870, Valley of Saint-Imier. A factory worker who makes watch parts crosses paths with geographer and cartographer Pyotr Kropotkine, a theorist of libertarian communism.

"The independence of thought and expression which I found in the Swiss Jura Mountains appealed far more strongly to my feelings; and after staying a few weeks with the watchmakers, my views upon socialism were settled: I was an anarchist." The Saint-Imier valley, 1870. A worker producing watch parts, including a wheel that serves as a balance, crosses paths with Pyotr Kropotkin. Kropotkin is a geographer, explorer, zoologist, anthropologist, geologist and theorist of libertarian communism. The filmmaker, who comes from a family of watchmakers, revisits a chapter from his past. Through the use of non-professional actors and their distinctive vernacular, he confronts his history and ties it more closely to the present. (To be continued…)
