1840. You're taking a stroll, the pace of which is dictated by your sole companion – a turtle. This light-hearted experience demonstrates the pervasiveness of the attention economy in our modern world…
Challenge! Will you be able to stay focused on your pet turtle, even though Berthe has just commented on your latest pic on Daguerreogram? Inspired by an anecdote from an essay by Walter Benjamin, you are thrown into the shoes of an 1840s flâneur, whose existence is punctuated by that of his pet. With great mischief, Walking a Turtle brilliantly demonstrates the importance that the attention economy has taken in our modern world.
