Spanish director Jonás Trueba has become an expert in the study of couples in cinema, and this time he takes a whimsical and unexpected approach to his favorite subject. At the end of a fourteen-year relationship, Ale and Alex invite their friends and family to a celebration of their separation. No one seems entirely convinced by the idea, but what about the former lovers? The chance encounters of romantic comedies are brilliantly turned on their head here, with bittersweet humor and a fresh take on a genre we thought we knew everything about. As charming as it is melancholy, Trueba's new feature is a delight!
