The GIFF enters a new decade with the launch of a cherished project, the Swiss Series Award. This is the first Swiss award for the best series screenplay, with a prize of 20,000 CHF, offered by cultural funds SSA and Suissimage.

With its program featuring around thirty international series, the Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF) positions itself as the key platform for launching new series in Switzerland, in partnership with RTS and SRG SSR. It collaborates with prestigious broadcasters and distributors such as ARTE, CANAL+, BBC, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and HBO.

In response to changing audience behaviors and the growing interest in the series format, the GIFF has strengthened its offerings by presenting entire series to viewers. This innovative and unique approach to promoting series at festivals has been a world premiere since 2021.

For its 30th edition, the GIFF aims to enhance its role as a hub of innovation in audiovisual fiction, providing a platform that honors the cinema and television heritage while pushing the boundaries of the 7th art.
