The GIFF VR Museum therefore continues its roaming with a broader selection of classic masterpieces for you to discover through the prism of virtual reality (VR). For this first collaboration with the Veyrier county, GIFF offers a selection of six immersive art pieces from May 21st – May 23rd at l’Espace culturel – La Mansarde.

GAUGUIN’S INNER JOURNEY

This immersive journey into the heart of the artist’s imagination takes you into a fascinating ballet of colors. Among other major works, Joyeusetés (Arearea) and The Woman with the Flower (Vahine no te tiare), take shape like in a dream. Based on testimonies left by the artist, you travel with Gauguin’s thoughts during his first trip to Tahiti.

UNFRAMED INTIMACIES BY FÉLIX VALLATON

In 1898, Vallotton realizes a series of wooden engravings entitled Intimités, which represents ten love life moments of the Parisian pianist Misia Sert. The carvings represents her sentimental life, between adultery and boredom of married life, between tears and kisses. To revisit the piece, the VR project of Hors-Cadre imagines the musician responds to the artist. Exciting.
CLAUDE MONET – THE WATER LILIES OBSESSION

Claude Monet painted close to 250 works featuring water lilies from his pond in Giverny, including the eight panels at L’Orangerie in Paris. Through this virtual fantasy, the great impressionist’s floral work comes to life and reveals itself from the inside. Poetic and fascinating.
UNFRAMED THE ISLES OF THE DEAD

Painted between 1880 and 1886 by Arnold Böcklin, the isle of the dead is without a doubt one of the most famous Swiss art piece in the world. Guided by the irreverent Yann Marguet, this VR work is more of an acid trip than a walk in the museum.
