Adapted from Louise Kennedy's award-winning 2022 novel of the same name, Trespasses tells the story of an impossible love in a divided Northern Ireland, carefully reconstructed. In the midst of the Northern Ireland conflict, Cushla witnesses religious violence and discrimination on a daily basis, both in her school and in the family bar where she works and meets Michael, a man several years her senior with links to the IRA (Irish National Army). Her passion for him proves to be extremely dangerous in these troubled times. A fascinating historical fresco starring Gillian Anderson as the heroine's whimsical mother.
