On October 27, 1981, a Soviet Whiskey-class submarine was found stranded in Swedish territorial waters. A look back at eleven days of tension between Sweden and the USSR.
Based on true events, Whiskey on The Rocks looks back at the grounding of a Soviet submarine in 1981, which led to a tense confrontation between Sweden and the USSR at the height of the Cold War. Combining comedy, drama and thriller, this six-episode Swedish mini-series written by Jonas Jonasson, author of The Old Man Who Didn't Want to Celebrate His Birthday, is designed as a critique of high government. The five-star cast, including Mark Noble (The Borgias, 2011), Rolf Lassgård (Mr. Ove, 2015) and Anders Mossling (The Kingdom, 1994), give their all in this hilarious political satire.
