TALES OF SWISS INNOVATION: EXIT VOID IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Tales of Swiss Innovation, a section highlighting Swiss audiovisual pioneers, will be dedicated in 2026 to Exit Void, a Geneva-based collective of independent filmmakers that has made its mark through a self-taught and eclectic approach to audiovisual creation, while also standing out in the music video scene through numerous high-profile collaborations.
The Festival is pleased to welcome Exit Void, a Geneva-based collective of independent filmmakers founded in 2015 by Emral Kadriov, Birdjan Kadriov and Alessandro Bucolo. Guest of honor of the Tales of Swiss Innovation – a section of the GIFF that highlights and honors pioneers who advance Swiss audiovisual media, television, and digital storytelling – Exit Void has developed a self-taught, cross-disciplinary approach to filmmaking that helps redefine the notion of authorship. Working as directors and artistic directors, actors and stunt performers, screenwriters, colourists and editors, the members of the collective see creation as a transdisciplinary process in which every stage contributes to bringing their vision to life.
As a leading name in music videos, their preferred field of experimentation, Exit Void has established itself as one of the most distinctive voices in Swiss audiovisual creation, notably through high-profile collaborations with Slimka, Makala, Rounhaa, Ninho and Vladimir Cauchemar. Whether in Slimka’s Headshot – whose aesthetic lies somewhere between film noir and martial arts cinema – or Makala’s Hitman Go – a music video that reconnects with the imagery of the Californian gangster film – the collective creates worlds that reveal both its love of cinema and its taste for hybrid forms and modes of production. Exit Void has also recently made waves with Geneva RP, an ambitious project that recreates the city and its iconic landmarks within the world of Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V). The public will be able to (re)discover a selection of Exit Void’s music videos on the big screen and delve into the collective’s creative journey during a screening attended by its members.
The Early Bird Pass costs 110 CHF instead of 165 CHF until midnight on 7 October 2026, the day before the programme is published. It grants access to the Festival’s screenings and Talks, as well as to GIFF PRO, excluding private events.
