SWISS SERIES storytelling AWARD

GIFF - Geneva International Film Festival

GIFF CELEBRATES SWISS SERIES: LAUNCH OF THE 2ND YEAR OF THE SWISS SERIES STORYTELLING AWARD

Following the success of its first edition, the Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF) continues to support Swiss audiovisual creation with the second edition of the Swiss Series Storytelling Award. This one-of-a-kind award in Switzerland, dedicated to series screenwriting, will honor the best national script with a prize of CHF 20,000, thanks to the support of the SSA and Suissimage cultural funds.

With around thirty international series featured in its program, GIFF stands as a key launch platform for series in Switzerland, in collaboration with RTS, SSR SRG, and SRF.

In 2024, GIFF offered audiences 39 high-level series—in Swiss, international and world premieres—split between an international competition and a showcase of the season’s highlights. Among the gems featured were: Winter Palace (RTS/Netflix), Tschugger 3 (SRF), Those Who Blush (Arte/Box Productions), Bellas Artes (Gloriamundi Producciones/Historias Particulares), Iris (Films entre 2 et 4/Canal+), Bullshit (Viaplay), Whiskey on the Rocks (Disney+), Generation Z (The Forge/All3Media International) and Dune: Prophecy (HBO Max/Legendary Television).
