2026 POSTER

For its 32nd edition, the Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF) unveils a striking new visual identity created, for the very first time, by artist Dominik Grejc. Following last year’s technology-inspired aesthetic, this captivating new artwork explores the concepts of temporality and image decomposition.

The poster features the GIFF logo as a dynamic kinetic sequence in motion. Flowing trails and overlapping letterforms embody the passage of time while reflecting the Festival’s multidisciplinary nature, directly echoing the diversity of its programme, spanning film screenings, television series, and immersive experiences.

The pixelated gradient, rendered in deep, rich hues, evokes the intimate atmosphere of darkened cinemas and the magic of projection at the heart of GIFF. Each layer comes together, vibrates, and forms a distinctly contemporary visual language that mirrors the works presented throughout the Festival.

For this 2026 edition, the GIFF logo takes shape as a sequence. Each letter leaves a soft trail behind it, a residue of motion that turns the wordmark into something closer to time than to type. The pixelated gradient in the background carries this idea further, alluding to the layered, frame-by-frame nature of cinema while keeping its own contemporary character. The color palette draws on cinematic atmosphere, echoing the deep tones of light and projection. Together, these elements place GIFF at the intersection of storytelling and the moving image.
