The 32nd edition of the Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF) will take place from October 30 to November 8, 2026, and the Geneva Digital Market will be held from November 2 to 5, 2026.

You would like to submit a work to be considered for the official selection of GIFF 2026?

Please note: Feature and short films are not eligible for submission.

1. SERIES

Submitted series are eligible for:
• The Convergent Sections (non-competitive)
• The International Series Competition
• The Future Is Sensible Award (convergent competition)

2. IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES

The call for immersive experiences is open to XR creations in virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR); digital installations, including interactive and/or performative works; as well as realtime narratives and video games.

Submitted immersive works are eligible for:
• The Convergent Sections (non-competitive)
• The International Immersive Experiences Competition
• The Future Is Sensible Award (convergent competition)

Works in progress are accepted for consideration; however, all works must be finalized for presentation at GIFF. If your immersive project will not be completed in time for the Festival, we encourage you to submit it to the Geneva Digital Market (call for projects opens on May 12, 2026).

1. SWISS INTERACTIVE SESSIONS

Presentation of Swiss digital projects / matchmaking sessions with institutions and distributors.

Since 2019, this programme enables Swiss digital artists to meet representatives of international institutions and art centres to facilitate the international dissemination of their projects.

The call is open to Swiss producers, creators, or filmmakers, or to applicants based in Switzerland. All genres (documentary, fiction, animation, experimental) are accepted, except those created to promote a service or product.

2. XR COPRODUCTION SESSIONS

Presentations of XR projects and immersive technologies / co-production market.

Organized since 2019, these sessions allow 15 of the most innovative European project developers to present their work in progress to European producers. The day is divided into two parts, starting in the morning with pitch sessions and continuing in the afternoon with one-on-one meetings between participants.

The call is open to producers, creators, and filmmakers active in Switzerland and/or Europe in the fields of virtual, augmented, or mixed reality.

Every year, the Geneva Digital Market (GDM) invites companies, startups, international experts, artists and other creative industry players to present the latest digital solutions and reflect on their challenges.

CONNECTING TO THE CREATIVE INDUSTRIES

A professional meeting platform, GDM offers on-site and online. More than 100 personalized meetings are organized each year.

The full content of the 14th edition of the Geneva Digital Market will be announced in October 2026. Accreditation will open in September 2026.

The Geneva International Film Festival continues to support Swiss audiovisual creation with the Swiss Series Storytelling Award, returning this year for a third edition and spotlighting documentary series. This one-of-a-kind Swiss award, dedicated to series screenwriting, will grant CHF 20,000 to the best national screenplay, thanks to the support of the SSA and Suissimage cultural funds. An initiative that reflects the GIFF’s commitment to supporting Swiss audiovisual creation. With around thirty international series featured in its program, GIFF stands as a key launch platform for series in Switzerland, in collaboration with RTS, SSR SRG, and SRF.

SWISS SERIES STORYTELLING AWARD: 

  • All Swiss documentary series broadcast (on TV or online) between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2026 are eligible.
  • For the 2026 edition, only documentaries projects (including animated works, but excluding reality TV) will be considered. Fiction series will be eligible for the 2027 edition.
  • Submission deadline: August 20, 2026.
  • An independent jury made up of international personalities from the series industry will award the prize.
  • The award will be presented on November 5, 2026.

Attend the Swiss Series Storytelling Award during an evening dedicated to the dynamism of Swiss production. On the programme: award ceremony, screenings, and special guests!
